The Use of Data Acquisition and Stimulus Systems Based on Industrial Computers in the Automotive Industry

This article presents an automation solution specially interesting to the automotive industry: the use of data acquisition and stimulus systems based on industrial IBM-PC compatible microcomputers. Examples of two such systems already in use in the automotive sector are presented, showing how this solution was successfully used.

Finally, the main advantages of this solution are showed, covering both technical and economic aspects.
