- There are many methods to create images in computer graphics. The optical path tracking methods, represented by the ray tracing method, are most frequently used in recent years. One of the problems of these methods as a &sign supporting system, is a huge amount of time required in image creation. There are many optical paths which are used to indicate lamp lighting conditions. Rays of light which from the way of lighting specific to a lamp can be classified into several types. It is possible to rationally obtain those optical paths that must be calculated by using an optical path tracking method which is matched to the classified light. Optical path calculation can be drastically simplified if the reflecting object and transmit object, illuminated by a light source, are assumed to be “quasi-light sources” that have the relevant information. This method makes it possible to obtain images that permit evaluation and investigation of lighting appearance of a lamp in the design stage, and to significantly reduce processing time requirements.
