Launching of the Malaysian National Car, PROTON SAGA was in July, 1985 with a tie-up between Heavy Industries Corporation of Malaysia and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation/Mitsubishi Corporation.
Although there have been some motor vehicle assemblers in Malaysia up to now, PROTON is the first company to be a so-called motor manufacturer.
This report is concerned mainly with Manufacturing, separating it into two items. One is the technology transfer in Japan and the other is in Malaysia.
Accepting many trainees with different cultures, manners and customs, many trainers had suffered from many difficulties including language trouble during the initial part of their training. However, good human relations established by mutual trust have expedited the progress of Technology Transfer since then.
The result of various activities collected from many assistants engaged in this project will be explained.
