Powdered Adhesives and Processing for Headliner Applications

The increasing demand for a reduction in the use of environmentally hazardous materials combined with the need to gain a competitive advantage in productivity, has prompted many companies involved in the processing of soft trim components to consider thermoplastic adhesives as an alternative to other adhesives which are environmentally unsafe and require long cycle times to process.

This paper examines the selection, application and processing methods of thermoplastic adhesives in powder form and will provide information which may be used in possible new applications.
