Content
Aviation Head Up Guidance Systems (HUDS) have been used for a number of years primarily in military applications such as weapons delivery systems.
With the advent of reasonably priced inertial reference systems for commercial jet aircraft, the use of an inertial based head up guidance system offers an array of both safety and financial enhancements for the commercial operator. This paper will present the experience of Alaska Airlines in the implementation of the Flight Dynamics HGS-1000 in its B727 fleet of aircraft.
