Authors Abstract
Content
The electronic power shift was the first extension stage of an automated range-change plus splitter transmission. Other components on the way towards electronic drive control are control systems for clutch and engine and a gear selection system which is superimposed on the control system of the individual components. Thus, shifting strategies can be implemented which allow fuel savings in steady-state operation, while under dynamic driving conditions, the emphasis is rather placed on gear presettings which can be used to fully exploit the propulsion power.
