- The development of the Spectrim* HF85 Polyurea Reaction Injection Molding Polymer was prompted by the recent introduction of a modified on-line assembly process which bypasses high temperature E-coat paint baking ovens. This polymer system provides improved thermal stability and processing advantages over conventional polyurethane RIM polymers. This paper summarizes the processing and mechanical properties of the Spectrim HF85 system as compared to other polyurethane and polyurea systems and reiterates the advantages of the RIM process and performance for body panel production.
