Abstract
Among various features a truck crane carrier should have, 1) adequate rigidity and 2) sufficient strength are included as the most important. This paper introduces an approach for rational realization of these two features in frame development.
The paper takes up finite element method (FEM) analysis, which currently is widely accepted one of the most effective analytical techniques available, and gives some examples of elasticity-plasticity analysis using the general purpose nonlinear structural analysis program ABAQUS, demonstrating that it is an analytical technique capable of providing information that is of high-practical value.
