Authors Abstract
Content
The Flight Design System (FDS) was developed as a Shuttle mission planning tool by NASA in the late 1970s and acquired by the Air Force in the early 1980s for feasibility analyses and pre-mission planning (1)*. More recently FDS has been employed very successfully in the performance of orbit related analyses during realtime operations of primary and secondary Space Shuttle experiments. This paper addresses results and techniques of realtime replanning, for efficient and effective use of time on-orbit.
