- Camshafts with integral non-metallic cam lobes and timing gears, and with metallic bearing journals have been designed and developed for use in small gasoline engines. These cams provide reduced noise level and improved noise quality, reduced cost, and adequate life. This paper describes the design and development process, and presents test results.
