Designing for Serviceability and Repairability-The FD30B

The FD30B is a new 335 Net Flywheel Horsepower Crawler Tractor developed by Fiatallis. While there were many objectives included in the design criteria of this new model, this paper will concentrate on the features which contribute to improving “Serviceability and Repairability” defined in this project as:

• Provide ease of service and repair.
• Reduce time for service and repair.
• Simplify service and repair.

These goals were achieved without radically altering the General Arrangement of the machine.
