Authors Abstract
Content
A two-stroke cycle spark-ignition engine has been fitted with a low-pressure discontinuous fuel injection system electronically controlled by original equipment especially designed for research purposes. Both the beginning and the end of the ejection of fuel through the injector mouthpiece are known and are easily changeable with relation to a given point of reference in the cycle. The comparative study of the results concerning the operation with a carburetor, with inlet-duct positioned injectors and with transfer-ducts positioned injectors permitted investigation of the different phenomena affecting the test engine behavior.
