Abstract
Statistical methods were applied to subjective and objective ride measures used for class 8 cab-over-engine trucks.
Juror evaluations of truck ride were found to be approximately normally distributed with a standard deviation of 1.2 points on a particular tolerance scale.
The probability of incorrectly choosing one objective ride measure over another based on its correlation coefficient with jury ratings was investigated using Monte Carlo simulation. An estimate of the standard deviation of objective ride measure error as a function of correlation coefficient was also developed.
