Authors Abstract
Content
The use of task trainers to simulate real world conditions in surface and underground mines is discussed in this paper.
Formerly, simulators have been used in extremely hazardous situations or when very high costs makes on-the-job training prohibitive. Now simulators are being used in such places as power plants, railroads, mines, and other places where quality of training is of primary concern. Two types of devices used in coal mines to teach job-related tasks are described herein.
