Advocates of nuclear power claim it offers the world a virtually unlimited source of a non-atmospheric polluting, economical energy. Opponents claim it is unsafe, environmentally damaging, and a threat to world stability.
Without a doubt, nuclear power has been controversial since its conception and the Hiroshima tragedy of 1945. However, nuclear power has its place and has definite potential as an energy supply if we intend to continue our present lifestyle and further improve it technologically.
