Evolution of the NT–855 Engine

The question asked by the conference was related to how the piston engine would answer the challenges of the new decade. This paper attempts to answer that question by showing the past to present evolution of a particular heavy duty diesel engine, The Cummins NT-855, and then discussing anticipated future design improvements and results.
