Abstract
Content
This paper discusses test methodology and test results of cleanliness tests performed on hydraulic tubes, hoses, cylinders and reservoirs. Various test methods are described and compared with respect to relative accuracy and cost.
A means of rating components or sub-systems with respect to their effect on the cleanliness of an entire hydraulic system is presented. This rating system permits evaluation of suppliers as well as components.
The results of these tests have been used to initiate efficient, cost effective programs to improve component cleanliness.
