Authors Abstract
Content
It is very well known that cavitation is an undesirable phenomenon appearing on the telescopic hydraulic shock-absorbers causing a reduction in their absorption capacity, in their efficiency brought about by high temperatures, and causing unpleasant sonorous effects, an untimely wear of the components, etc.
The present work puts forward a structural principle which applied to the absorbers will result into a diminished cavitation risk starting from the anticavitation effects: foam building and thermal stability of the damping characteristic.
On the basis of the mentioned principle and of the laboratory analysis it has been succeeded in working out an anticavitation telescopic hydraulic absorber with a minimum foam building effect and with less than 10% /90°C/ efficiency loss at high temperatures, much less than it is experienced with the already known absorbers.
When mounted on the motor-vehicles the absorbers of this type provide the necessary stability of the suspension no matter what the servicing conditions may be.
