Abstract
The performance of hydraulic petroleum fluids is compared to that of conventional synthetic fluids used in motor vehicle braking systems.
Water tolerance tests were made with a laboratory apparatus to study the vapor lock properties. Different parameters which can affect “vapor lock” have been studied, such as:
- influence of dissolved water,
- influence of free water,
- influence of the quality of seals used in the braking systems.
