New Choice in Excavating with a Hydraulic Digger

This paper briefly discusses the history of the cable backhoe which, traditionally, was used for sewer and water excavations. New ideas for the usage of the present day large hydraulic backhoe are presented. The paper explores, in depth, their work zone, operating characteristics, and applications. A job systems analysis of the entire excavation transport disposal system involved in earthmoving is also given.
