Through the years, the progress of the hydraulic system is increasing. Pump speeds and output volume increases, have increased the total oil capacity. As a result of this, the selection of an appropriate oil has become an important factor in the hydraulic system operation.

This paper will endeavor to provide information to assist the hydraulic system designer in the selection of a hydraulic fluid, that is compatible with the various components in the hydraulic system.
