The paper describes Launch Complex 39 (LC-39) located at NASA's John F. Kennedy Space Center.
The physical characteristics, dimensions, capabilities, and limitations of all the LC-39 major components and other major facilities are described and depicted.
The Apollo Saturn V processing flow (receipt of vehicle hardware through launch) including the “mobile concept,” is described with particular emphasis on LC-39's high launch rate capability, economy of operation, and superior flexibility.
