Abstract
The PT6 gas turbine is now used in a wide variety of applications and environments and the manufacturers of this engine have endeavored to permit operators the widest practical choice of fuels and lubricants. A description of the engine is followed by a review of the effect that fuels and lubricants had on design and development.
The advantages and limitations imposed by the varied characteristics of leading types of approved fuels and lubricants are described and the policy followed for brand approval of lubricants is explained.
