- The basic drive axle components and their functions are described, and it is shown how single axle drive components are used in the conventional two-axle tandem. Also reviewed is the three-axle tandem which Rockwell-Standard calls the “tridem.”Illustrated in detail is a popular tridem combination, together with information pertaining to torque distribution of this and other combinations.
