Abstract
The penetration of diesel fuel sprays in gas has been measured on a static rig over a range of conditions. The main finding was that penetration was affected by gas temperature more than predicted by some existing formulae. A new correlation has been derived to fit the data. Preliminary results from observations on an engine indicate that the correlation applies under operating conditions.
