Abstract
This paper presents two new approaches to the improvement of vehicle performance. The first is the improvement of wheeled vehicle mobility through the use of theoretical formulae developed at the Land Locomotion Laboratory. The second method presented was able to double the operational speed of a highway train by the use of scale model tests on a rolling road.
