Correlation of Fatigue Design Data on Springs of Many Types

Abstract
The comparison of data from many tests of springs of different types has resulted in the development of a few simple design rules that should facilitate spring design for cyclic service. The design stress limit is based on the strength of the spring material, and governed by the environment and desired performance of the spring.
