Exceptional properties of nano filled NBR/PVC blend makes it an ideal candidate for both automotive and non-automotive applications. The present work, the effect of graphene and OMMT clay nano fillers in the conventional NBR/PVC (50: 50) composite with variation in filler weight fractions were studied for its mechanical properties. Test on hardness and tensile strength of the nanocomposite rubber was carried out for each of the composition and was compared. Results showed improvement in properties against the blank composite devoid of any fillers and increase in the weight fraction of graphene and OMMT clay has boosted the hardness and tensile strength of the base material. Influence of graphene had an upper hand in comparison with OMMT clay when it came for the hardness of the compound. Using finite element method, a numerical analysis was carried in ANSYS software to simulate the tensile property of the rubber nano composite and was validated with experimental results.
