Abstract
It is essential to conduct a fuel consumption test on the 2-axis
chassis dynamometer for simulating the effect of regenerative
braking. But, the 2-axis chassis dynamometer has some drawbacks
that degrade the repeatability of test results due to unsteady tire
mechanical loss on the drum.
We have studied the method to reduce resultant error in fuel
consumption test conducted on 2-axis chassis dynamometer for
evaluating the effect of component efficiency such as tire
efficiency. In this report, we discuss on the method to cancel the
influence of alternator control that has top priority on
regenerative brake without vehicle ECU information. We show also
the method to reduce the influence of lateral force generated on
the front wheel.
