Analysis of Driver's Subjective Risk Level at Pedestrian Appearance (First Report)~Analysis Using Drive Recorder Data
Published October 12, 2011 by Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan in Japan
This paper discusses about explanatory variables which cause the driver's subjective risk level when he/she acknowledges a pedestrian. Hiyari-hatto (near-miss incident) data against pedestrian recorded by drive recorders equipped on taxis are used. The hiyari-hatto level and the explanatory variables are evaluated and measured in each hiyari-hatto scene. Time to collision must be the principal explanatory variable and collision timing might be another explanatory variable.
