Abstract
DME fuel has received attention as an alternative fuel because of the extremely low level of PM emissions. DME fuel engines still emit the same level of NOx emissions as diesel fuel engines. The LNT system is typically used to reduce NOx emissions for compression-ignition engines, and DME fuel can be used as a reductant in the LNT system. This paper aims to figure out the effects of O₂ and NOx concentrations in the exhaust gas condition of DME fuel engines on the reduction performance of the LNT system and optimize the injection strategy of the reductant using a test rig.
