Measurement of the Number of Particulate Matters in the Exhaust Gas of a Diesel Vehicle
Published September 29, 2010 by Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan in Japan
Negative effects of particulate matters in exhaust gases on human bodies have been a source of concern in the recent years. Regulations on the number of particulate matters become effective in EU starting in 2012. These are new regulations that set up methods to measure particulate matters, and it is necessary to identify under which conditions the number of particulate matters increases or decreases. Thus, we studied the changes in the number of emitted particulate matters under different conditions such as how we drive a vehicle and with DPF regeneration.
