Abstract
In this study, we develop a simulation technique to predict sound isolation performance in the low-frequency range below 500 Hz so that the technique can support a study to improve the quality of sound generated from exhaust system. This technique consists of two steps: (1) prediction of sound pressure distribution in sound field outside vehicle utilizing infinite element, (2) prediction of sound pressure in passenger cabin loading the pressure obtained in the first step. We demonstrate the first step which is crucial in the technique can provide results with good accuracy and the practical computation time.
