Influence of Excitation Conditions on Vibration Properties of Vibration Damping Steel Sheets

Influence of excitation conditions on vibration properties of vibration damping steel sheets (VDSS) was investigated.
As a result, the followings become clear. In the case of panels that are vibrated directly, vibration levels of panels are inversely proportional to the products of rigidities and loss factors of panels. In the case of panels that are vibrated indirectly, vibration levels of panels are inversely proportional to the loss factors of panels. These results show good agreement with forecast of panel vibration levels led by dynamic models.
