Identification of Vestibulo-Ocular Reflex Model for State Estimation of Drivers

This paper develops a highly accurate vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) model. The developed model is identified to estimate a distraction state of the driver. Because of the limitation of the experimental device, yawing motion of the driver head, which is one of inputs to the model, does not include a sufficient frequency bandwidth. We modified the experimental device in order to generate sufficient yawing motions to the head. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the modified method.
