Abstract
In order to reduce exhaust gas, HCCI (homogeneous charge compression ignition) has been studied. HCCI has a potential that particle matter and nitrogen dioxide are reduced simultaneously. It is considered that HCCI combustion characteristics are affected by fuel properties such as cetane number and distillation. Therefore, the influence of ignition and distillation characteristics on diesel HCCI is investigated independently. As a result, HCCI combustion characteristics are almost affected by ignition delay including engine specifications. However the results show that the influences of distillation and chemical characteristics on diesel HCCI combustion are appeared.
