Abstract
Pump-induced pressure pulsation generated in a CVT hydraulic control circuit causes not only the fluid-borne noise, but also the malfunction electronic control. This paper developed the simulation program, which is capable of analyzing both the source pulsation characteristics of the vane pump and the pump-induced pressure pulsation generated in the CVT hydraulic control circuit, and then verified its availability by comparing the simulation results with the experimental measurements. Especially, the effects of both the air-bubble content in a hydraulic fluid and the vane bounce at high pump rotational speed on the pulsation phenomena have been investigated in detail.
