An Outline of the EFV21 Project and Its Execution Framework

Abstract
National Traffic Safety and Environment Laboratory was commissioned by MLIT to execute EFV21 project and acting as a principal research agency. In this report, the authors explain a project outline such as objectives, execution framework, development targets and so on. The project was carried out with close cooperation between automobile manufacturers, parts manufacturers, universities, and fuel manufacturers. Various-type environmentally friendly vehicles (EFVs) have been developed in this project. The design concepts, developed technology and environmental performance of those EFVs are shown in this report.
