Study on the Relationship Between Fuel Characteristics and Autoignition in Gasoline HCCI Engines (First Report)

For the commercial production of gasoline HCCI engines, it is important to understand the effect of fuel characteristics on HCCI combustion and SI combustion. In this study, using the model fuels composed of paraffins, the effect of fuel characteristics on two autoignition phenomena, which are 1) HCCI combustion and 2) knocking in SI combustion, is analyzed with experimental and numerical approaches.
