Abstract
In this paper one of Iran-Khodro company city buses, O457, model is developed in CRUISE. Then the vehicle performance and fuel consumption characteristics are compared with the values reported by the company. The agreement between these values indicates the validity of simulation. Moreover the model of the developing series hybrid electric bus in VFE research institute is generated in CRUISE and its performance with the chosen components and the developed thermostat control strategy is investigated to assure whether it can satisfy the required performance or not in Nuremberg and Tehran drive cycles. Finally, the performance and fuel consumption of the conventional O457 are compared with the series hybrid electric bus for mentioned drive cycles.
