Conventional active engine mounts are available for reducing floor vibration and interior noise in the range less than approximately 100 Hz. But the noise level less than 500 Hz is comparatively high. The authors investigate a new control method which is available in high frequency domain and try an application of hydraulic active engine mount, which consists of a voice coil motor, bellows and an accumulator, etc., to a recreational vehicle.
As a result, it is obtained that the seat rail vibration and the interior noise level are considerably reduced in the frequency domain of less than 500 Hz at idle speed.
