Abstract
During the last 15 years several milestones have influenced the performance of automotive lighting. The introduction of HID light sources allowed to reach a new performance level. After that the introduction of dynamic bending light (DBL) systems in 2003 has further improved the performance of lighting systems. This paper will describe the gain of visibility distance linked to different technologies. The advantages of DBL Systems on the visibility are demonstrated in driving experiments.
