Abstract
The application of ultra-high strength steel sheets is one of the most important methods to achieve both weight reduction and crash safety of a vehicle. Ultra-high strength steel sheets are currently being applied to some parts in a vehicle body. However, the formability of ultra-high strength steel sheets is strictly limited. In this study, several types of steel sheets with a tensile strength of 980MPa were developed. Their properties are introduced and shown to be suitable for certain automotive applications.
