It has already been shown that an Interactive NVH Simulator offers significant benefits to the vehicle NVH process. In particular, it enables a broader range of assessors (including non-experts) to evaluate more of the driving envelope in significantly less time than traditional, non-interactive methods. The NVH Simulator is also proving to be a powerful research tool for understanding customer preference and the subjective decision-making process. Whilst previous papers focused on the usage and benefits of the simulator, this paper describes methods for optimizing the data collection and preparation tasks. This leads to a reduced amount of data and time invested in setting up a simulation whilst maintaining fidelity for subjective evaluation.
