Abstract
Fuel injection pump bushing of common rail system is used under high unit load with diesel oil of low viscosity. As a result, oil film thickness of the bushing is very thin and unit load of the bushing is higher. Therefore, the bushing required higher seizure resistance and higher fatigue resistance. Conventionally, lead-bronze alloy is used for the bushing material. We developed a new lead-free material for the fuel injection pump bushing. By fine distribution of bismuth in the copper alloy matrix, which has high corrosion resistance, the new material has excellent seizure resistance and fatigue resistance.
