A nighttime pedestrian recognition assistance system has been developed. We arranged a basic way of thinking of human interface to reduce driving load of a person driving and built a system. We adopted the far-infrared camera which was superior in ability to detect a pedestrian of a distant place than a human being. Furthermore, we added a function that judges existence of a pedestrian from far-infrared images. We confirmed an effect that this system is effective for driving by night.
