Abstract
The transition from the document-centric engineering tech center to the data-centric manufacturing processes is a mess. The interface is cumbersome, and often done with non-value added, non-lean labor. This paper describes how to bridge the gap between Engineering CAD systems and Manufacturing quality systems. It describes the pitfalls in using document driven PLM systems for APQP and PPAP and other automotive processes.
