Authors Abstract
Content
Due to the ever-increasing number of power operated features in today's motor vehicle – electric window openers with auto-up function, power doors and lift gates, to mention just a few – and, of course a desire for more and more luxury features, safety is becoming a more and more important topic.
This discourse describes the technology and the application of tactile (pressure sensitive) anti pinch systems and a non-touch (presence sensing) system which works on the basis of ultrasound. These systems are designed to be used as an alternative or in addition to indirect, motor-controlled anti pinch systems.
