Computational Chemistry Study for the Development of DME Diesel Engine

Dimethyl ether is well known as the new diesel fuel substituted for light oil because of its high cetane number and smokeless burning. Since their viscosity and lubrication property is not enough, some additives are required to improve their property. Hence, it is important for us to know the effect of molecule structure and functional groups on such property. By experimental studies, it is very difficult to investigate such nano-scale phenomenon. In the present study, we investigate the property of DME and additives in diesel engine system by the computational chemistry approach.
