Use of CFD to Support Heat Management CAE Simulation

Abstract
Heat protection CAE calculations currently use convection coefficients estimated with base on experience with previous designs. A CFD model was used to predict local convection coefficients, in an attempt to achieve more accurate results. Results obtained with the estimated and calculated coefficients are compared with field data.
